BANGARUTALLI – Maa Inti Mahalakshmi
Bangarutalli is meant to take care of the girl child in every household from her birth till she completes her graduation. If she gives birth to a baby girl, Rs 2,500 will be deposited into her account. Rs 1000 will be given for the first 2 years at the time of immunization. Rs 1,500 will be given every year to the family through Anganwadis till the baby attains the age of 5 years from 3rd year onwards. At the time of admission to school, Rs 2,000 will be given every year for her studies from the first to the fifth standard, and Rs 2,500 from sixth to eighth standard, Rs 3,000 for ninth and tenth standard. For the girls study of Intermediate, she will be given Rs 3,500 each year, and Rs 4,000 a year during her graduation.
SADAREM – A Program for issuance of Disabled certificates.
Objective of the SADAREM initiative is to create a Dynamic Web enable system for comprehensive access, rehabilitation and empowerment, through automation, capacity building, assessment of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and maintaining Decision Support System (DSS).
STHREENIDHI CREDIT CO-OPERATIVE FEDERATION LTD.
Sthreenidhi credit cooperative Federation Ltd., is promoted by the Government and the MandalSamkahyas to supplement credit flow from banking sector and is a flagship programme of the Government. SthreeNidhi provides timely and affordable credit to the poor SHG(Self-Help Group) members as a part of the overall strategy of SERP for poverty alleviation.
SHGs are comfortable to access hassle free credit from SthreeNidhi as and when required using their mobile and therefore do not see any need to borrow from other sources at usurious rates of interest. SthreeNidhi is in a position to extend credit to the SHGs even in far flung areas of the state in 48 hours to meet credit needs for exigencies like health, education and other income generation needs like agriculture, dairy and other activities. As credit availability is linked to grading of MS and VOs, community is keen to improve functioning of the same to access higher amount of credit limits from SthreeNidhi.
Bhoomi-(Land Access To Poor)
Land represents a fundamental asset to the rural families in our country which comprise a substantial majority of the population. It is a primary source of income, security, and status. Land is one asset which almost every rural man or woman relates to. In the rural areas all the socio-economic privileges and deprivations revolve round land.
Community Managed Sustainable Agriculture-CMSA:
Sustained efforts to make agriculture as economically viable and ecologically sustainable activity, without compromising on yields and improving returns per unit of land and water, to improve the quality of farmer’s life.
The Primary mission is to improve the annual incomes of farmers in Rain fed areas in particular and agriculture in general with integrated farming systems.
The CMSA is for Developing new tools and equipment for reducing drudgery to women farmers, for Establishing village level infrastructure for supply of these tools, for Upgrading women farmer’s knowledge in eco-friendly farming technologies, for Organizing capacity building programs with new training content and improved methods, for Managing revolving fund for decentralized extension system leading to multiple livelihood options models to be managed communities on their own.
KRUSHE
KRuSHE wing under SERP has been incepted to promote entrepreneurship in Farm and Non-farm livelihoods among the members of rural SHG households with focus on POP on saturation basis and to engage each household in an entrepreneurial activity for drought proofing the rural households.
For restoring the traditional art and crafts of Andhra Pradesh, KRuSHE is an attempting to link numerous artisans, craftsmen and rural producers of the state to remunerative markets, The objective is that the artisan gets the correct worth for her produce and there is a substantial increase in the income, The flourishing artisan should inspire the others in the region to take up the same occupation
Approach
KRuSHE envisages integrated approach of building infrastructure, linking markets and providing credit, technology (environment friendly), skills, design and institutional development to the rural household.
Objective
To increase the profitability of the existing SHG enterprises there by creating local employment and ensure the sustainability of the enterprises. To promote entrepreneurship in Farm and Nonfarm livelihoods among the members of rural SHG households with focus on POP on saturation basis. To increase the income and employment opportunities in the villages.
Community Managed Health And Nutrition :
The Community Managed Health & Nutrition project is a comprehensive package of community based interventions which include Nutrition cum Day Care Center (NDCC), Health Savings & Health Risk Fund, Convergence of Fixed National Health Day, Water & Sanitation program, Sanjeevani Health Insurance, and Capacity Building of Health Activist (HA), Health Sub Committee (HSC), and Community Resource Person (CRP). CMH&N interventions focus on four major public health areas: maternal health, infant and child care, environmental health, community health system and communicable diseases.
The Community Managed Health and Nutrition (CMH&N) intervention utilizes trained community members in the form of Health Activist (HA) and Community Resource Person (CRP) to transmit messages about maternal, neonatal, infant care practices to SHGs and village organizations. The major objectives of training are demystifying medicine, using health education with local case studies and culture, promoting self confidence amongst community members, decision making & managing by the community, and integrating other social reforms to reduce overall poverty. IKP has also integrated training of Health Sub Committee, which consists of internal members of the community to provide critical monitoring and feedback on HN activities at village, mandal and district level.
Unnathi
Towards the end of the first decade of IKP in the year 2009, it was observed that 20% of poor were still untouched, majority of whom belonged to socially vulnerable groups (SC/ST) and thus needed intensive handholding support. To address this critical gap, SERP evolved a more targeted and focused approach under IKP, to fight the poverty of the poorest known as Unnathi.
Objectives: The objective of Unnathi is to enable every poorest of poor family in the state to come out of poverty with increased and sustainable livelihood opportunities established with the aid of an intensive handholding support. The same has to be done in a focused and phased manner starting with organizing them, strengthening their institutions, increasing their asset base, mitigating risks, expanding the livelihoods and increasing their incomes. In concise, enhancing the income of POP family to an annual income of Rs One lakh over a period and a significant improvement in human development aspects are considered the twin mandate of the proposed strategy.
The need for Unnathi was further confirmed by the data from the baseline survey that was carried out immediately after the identification of PoP households. Detailed information was gathered about each and every PoP household on all important livelihood, human development and quality of life aspects. The baseline of PoP families doubly confirmed the need for exclusive strategy which was rightly put in place by SERP in the name of Unnathi.
DAIRY
IKP is has started the initiative of Profitable Dairying by Establishing Milk Procurement Centers in villages and Bulk Milk Cooling Units ( BMCUs) at mandal level through SHGs and their federations in two mandals on Pilot basis in 2006-07 and has reached to the present level of managing 199 BMCUs with more than 4500 village level milk procurement centers and have procured 77122 MTs of milk worth Rs.16966 lakhs during the year 2009-10.
ABHAYA HASTHAM
Government of Andhra Pradesh introduced Velugu Pension and Insurance Scheme for the (Rural and Urban) SHG women in November 2009 to provide income security in their old age. The aim was to provide security to all enrolled SHG women with dignity in their old age.
This scheme works in principal of contribution amount Rs. 365 per annum by the SHG woman and Government co contribution amount Rs. 365 per annum into her pension amount. The interest that earned from corpus generated for each member till the completion of 60 years of her age is used for giving monthly pension from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2200 based on the age of the member. Each enrolled member under the scheme is entitled to get minimum pension of Rs. 500 after completion of 60 years of her age and all the enrolled members between age group of 18 to 59 years are eligible to get Insurance coverage under JBY scheme.
Unnathi IWMP Livelihoods – IWMP
The Department of Rural Development implemented watersheds through different programmes viz. Integrated Wastelands Development Programmes,Drought Prone Areas Programme and Desert Development programme.Based on the recommendations of Technical Committee under the Chairmanship of Prof. C.H. Hanumantha Rao, Department of Land resources,Government of India launched new integrated program on watershed development called Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) in 2008
Community Managed Micro Insurance– AABY
Need: It is gauged that more than 250 poor people who are the head or bread winners of the SHG members’ families are dying every day in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Eventually, the rural poor families face enormous problems, if they lose their bread winner due to untimely death. The loss of head or bread winner leaves the family in a shudder to fight for survival. Moreover, the family comes under sever stress and shock, both psychological and economic. As an upshot the households end up in a disastrous situation and is flung into irrecoverable abject poverty
Vision:The Self Help Groups and their federations envision that even the poorest of the poor, including the landless agricultural laborers, deserve an access to relevant and affordable insurance and social security nets by massification and be protected from risks on death/disability and to secure a dignified life to SHG women by providing income security in their old age and to provide financial support for their children for continuation of education by means of scholarships.
Mission: Is to empower the Self Help Groups and the Community Based Organization (CBOs) to play an active role in the implementation of social security interventions, to reduce people’s vulnerabilities through diversified social security measures to protect their income and asset base, by creating an enabling environment for self management by the community itself with appropriate project facilitation.
N T R BHAROSA
The Government of Andhra Pradesh is committed to secure dignified life to all the poor and vulnerable, particularly the old and infirm and to support their minimum needs to bring happiness in their lives. In pursuit of this overarching goal, inspite of the challenging financial conditions, orders were issued vide G.O.Ms.No. 113 Dated: 19.06.2014 enhancing the NTR Bharosa Pension amount from Rs.200/- to Rs.1000/- per month to Old Age, Widow, Weavers,Toddy Tappers and AIDS patients and from Rs.500/- to Rs.1000/- per month to People With Disabilities (PWD) having 40% to 79% degree of disability and Rs.1500/- per month for PWDs having 80% and above degree of disability, and that the above enhanced scale of pension came into effect from 2nd October,2014 onwards.
VADDILENI RUNNALU- LOAN INSURANCE
In the light of bank linkage program with VADDILENI RUNNALU, a huge amount of money is transacted by the SHG members in the name of total financial inclusion covering even the swapping of old debts. It is proud to inform that Govt. of AP leads in SHG Bank Linkage Program with 40% of all bank loans given to SHGs in India. The bankers are comfortable and testifying that the recovery rate is 99%. In this back drop, SHG women evince great interest in insuring the loans taken by the members from the Commercial Banks or from their own federations as a safety net against financial risks in the event of natural and accidental mishaps, to protect their children, family members from debt traps. Hence, the scheme shall be scaled up to cover each and every SHG member. The core objective of the scheme is to protect the family members of an SHG member from financial risks, in the event of her death, to safeguard the institution of SHG from repayment burden, when a borrowing members dies, to ensure the perpetuality of the SHG, providing loan insurance to all the borrowing member, to ensure 100% repayment at all levels even in the time of turbulence and to increase the size of loans to SHG(Self-Help Group) members, by creating confidence among the Bankers.
AP FiberNet Project for 15-100 MBPS Broadband at Low Cost
Andhra Pradesh Government has launched a high speed broadband project named AP Fibernet on 17th March. The project aims to provide affordable high speed broadband connectivity to the households and workplaces across the state.
The rates decided to provide broadband connectivity are much lower than that of the other private and public broadband service providers. The government will provide 15 MBPS internet at Rs. 199 per month and 100 MBPS speed will be provided at just Rs. 999 per month.
The AP Fibernet Project has been initially launched in the Visakhapatnam district but will roll out to other districts by July 2016. The whole project has been implemented at a cost of Rs. 333 Crore.
The AP Government aims to connect 1.3 Crore households in the state through AP Fibernet. The government has tied up with the leading network solutions provider CISCO to implement the project.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in Andhra Pradesh as Pilot Project
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a crop insurance scheme is all set to be started in Andhra Pradesh as pilot project. The scheme will be implemented to provide financial help to the farmers in the state.
PMFBY, the central government scheme was launched in January 2016 to provide financial help to the farmers at low premium. The financial help under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana is provided in case of damage of crops due to natural calamities.
Minister for Agriculture Pattipati Pulla Rao, during a meeting has instructed the official to implement the scheme in the state and create greater awareness among farmers about the scheme.
The minister also suggested the official to encourage farmers to increase the horticulture area since it generates more revenue.
The premium amount for Kharif crops is 2 percent and 1.5 percent of the sum insured for Rabi crops. The premium for commercial or horticultural crops (including cotton) is pegged at 5 percent for one year.
AROGYA RAKSHA
Futures of Aarogya Raksha:
Andhra Pradesh is the first and only State in India providing of "Health for All" with an objective of providing quality health to the entire population of the State by launching "Aarogya Raksha".
‘Health for All' Scheme counts to be one of the pioneers in terms of achieving equity and providing accountable and evidence-based good-quality health-care services in the State to assist Above Poverty Line families from catastrophic health expenditure.
End-to-end cashless services for identified 1044 diseases under secondary and tertiary care through 400 Government and Corporate Network Hospitals.
The BPL families and families coming under employees and pensioners health scheme and working journalist health scheme are already covered with quality health care. The remaining population accounting to 32 lacks of families will be covered under "Health for All" in addition to 159 lacks of families who are already covered under various state owned programmes like Dr.NTR Vaidya Seva, Employees Health Scheme and Working Journalist Scheme.
The families can be registered under "Health for All" from 01.01.2017 upto 28-02-2017 by paying the premium for the entire family for one year with a low premium of Rs.1200/- for individual.
Unlike other insurance schemes pre existing disease will not be considered.
The new born can be registered under the Scheme by paying Rs.100/- per month for the remaining financial months.
The newly married couple either the wife or husband belongs to other state can be registered under one family by paying the entire annual premium.
Patients' choice for undergoing treatment:
The choice of hospital for treatment is with the patient. The entire process from the time of conduct of health camps to the screening, diagnosing , treatment, follow- up and claim payment is made transparent through online web based processing to prevent any misuse and fraud.
138 Follow-up services will be provided for a period of one year through fixed packages to those patients who require long term follow-up therapy in order to get optimum benefit from the procedure and avoid complications. Follow-up packages include consultation and medication.
The aim of the Scheme is to improve equity of access to Above Poverty Line families to quality tertiary medical care both by strengthening the Public Hospital infrastructure as well as through purchase of quality private medical services to provide financial support of Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum for individual for catastrophic health needs.
End-to-end cashless inpatient services from the time of reporting of the patient, including professional services, investigations, medicines, implants, consumables, diet and ten (10) days post-discharge medication, including treatment of complications, if any, up to thirty (30) days post-discharge for those patients who undergo "listed therapy(ies) offered through Network Hospitals.
Arogya Raksha Health Insurance Scheme
The main objective of Arogya Raksha scheme is to cover the APL families in the state and provide them the health insurance. Through the scheme, the state government aims to ensure “Health for All” by providing them insurance coverage at a negligible premium amount.
A total of 1044 diseases would be covered under the Arogya Raksha scheme. There are a total of 432 hospitals including 80 government general hospitals which have been empaneled for the implementation of the scheme. The Arogya Raksha scheme would provide health insurance coverage to about 35 Lakh APL families in the state.
Arogya Raksha Premium Amount
To avail the Arogya Raksha scheme benefits, every individual would be required to pay Rs. 100 per month or Rs. 1200 per annum. TO avail the family benefits, ever individual in the family would be required to pay Rs. 1200 per annum as the policy premium.
The World Health Organisation, Bill Gates Foundation and other noted health organizations are supporting the government in implementing this scheme.
Swasta Vidya Vahini & Andariki Aarogyam
The government of Andhra Pradesh is leaving no stone unturned to improve the living condition of citizens in the state. There are several things which need to be improved if it wants to improve the living standard of people and the most important of them is health.
Andariki Aarogyam
This is why the government has decided to launch a dedicated health insurance scheme – Andariki Aarogyam – to bring some improvement in the health sector.
The government is working under the guidance of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to launch the Andariki Aarogyam scheme under which health insurance will be provided to all families that are currently not covered under the Central Government’s scheme.
Under the new health insurance scheme – which will be reportedly launched on January 1, 2017 – people will be able to get a health insurance by spending just Rs 100 as premium per head in the family.
Those who are willing to get benefits of the health scheme can enroll their names. Officials would complete the process of enrollment and collect premium in first two months.
The health scheme, expected to best global health insurance practice, will be launched with the involvement of World Health Organisation, Bill Gates foundation and other noted health organizations.
It is estimated that the health scheme would cost Rs.160.56 crore. The final decision will be taken in the cabinet meeting and the government is expected to be sanctioned in next budget.
This is really great step by the Andhra Pradesh government to the families of the state and lakhs of people are expected to be benefited by Andariki Aarogyam scheme.
The government has also clarified that no one will be forced to take the insurance; instead it is planning to make people aware about the benefits and importance of health insurance.
Swasta Vidya Vahini:
Apart from this Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to introduce ‘Swasta Vidya Vahini’ (SVV) scheme to offer healthy food to school students in the state.
Under the scheme, nutritious food will be distributed to the students studying in various schools at over 222 locations across the state. Apart from providing healthy foods, the scheme aims at inculcating healthy habits in children.
For this, nearly 45,000 medical students from MBBS, PG medical courses, and the nursing stream will participate in the programme. These students would visit villages to create awareness among the kids and elders about individual cleanliness and keeping the surroundings clean. The NTR University has been directed to make proper arrangements for the programme.
The government has already launched nearly two dozen such scheme in the state for the betterment of the people and is planning to start more such programs in the coming days.
Energy Efficient Tubelights at Rs. 250 in Andhra Pradesh
The state government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to launch a new scheme for distribution of energy efficient tubelights at subsidized rates. The government would launch the new scheme to distribute energy efficient tubelights at kiosks across the state. The tubelights will be available against a payment of Rs. 250 per unit.
The actual cost of the tubelights in the open market is Rs. 500 to 600 per unit but the government will provide those at about half the actual cost. The programme will be launched during the energy conversation week celebration between December 14 to 20.
The main objective of the scheme is to save energy so that the overall cost can be lowered down for both consumers and the government. The scheme may provide a great relief in the electricity bill to those still using the conventional tubelights as the main lighting source.
There is not much information right now about the energy efficient tubelights scheme because it is not launched yet. Once the scheme is launched, more details will be updated here.
However, the scheme will surely of great help for those looking to save electricity bills of their households but not able to buy the energy efficient tubelights at high market prices.
Chandranna Bima Yojana Insurance Scheme to Cover 2 Crore Labourers
Chandranna Bima Yojana, an insurance scheme for labourers in unorganized sector in Andhra Pradesh would be covering about 2 Crore such labourers in the state. According to some sources, the AP Smart Pulse Survey has identified about 62 Lakh labour out of the total 2 crore who will be provided insurance benefits under the scheme.
Under the Chandranna Bima scheme, the members of deceased family will get an insurance amount of Rs. 5 lakh for accidental death or complete disability. In case of partial disability Rs. 3.62 lakh will be given and Rs. 30,000 in case of normal death.
There is a provision of providing scholarship of Rs. 1200 per annum to the children of such labourers who are studying in 9th, 10th standard or in IIT.
The state government would bear a premium of Rs. 134 crore on behalf of the workers and the workers will have to pay only Rs. 15 towards the service charge. The government has introduced an online registration system for the same.

Badiki Vastha – Free Bicycle Scheme for Girl Students
Badiki Vastha, a new scheme has been announced by the state government of Andhra Pradesh to encourage girl child education in the state. Under the Badiki Vastha scheme, the state government would provide free bicycles to every girl child studying in class 9th in the state.
Free bicycle would be provided to the girl students of 9th class studying in government, aided, ZPP, Municipal and other model schools in the state. The state government has allocated Rs. 74.92 crores for the implementation of the scheme.
As Andhra Pradesh is one of the leading states with high number of Girl students dropouts, the state government aims to decrease the number through this initiative.
Such schemes of providing free bicycles to girl students are already under implementation in Gujarat, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and some other states.
Chandranna Bima Yojana in Andhra Pradesh for Labourers
A new insurance scheme for labourers in the unorganised sector is all set to be launched by the state government of Andhra Pradesh. The scheme will be launched from August 1 to benefit 1.5 crore such labourers.
Named as “Chandranna Bima Yojana”, will be launched on August 1 to benefit labourors in unorganized sectors such as agricultural labourers, artisans, small self-employed people, petty traders, vendors, hamals and shop employees and similar people.
Chandranna Bima Yojana – Benefits
The scheme benefits can be availed by the workers by paying just Rs. 15 in the labour department. Below are the main benefits of the Chandranna Bima Yojana for Unorganised workers in the age group of 18 to 59 years (as per AABY norms).
The scheme will provide an insurance cover of Rs. 5 Lakh in case of accidental death or total disability in the accident. The kin of the insurer would get Rs. 5 Lakh compensation.
The insurer would be paid Rs. 3,62,500 in case of partial disability. If the natural death occurs to the insures, the kin would get Rs. 30,000.
Above are not the only benefits, in addition, two children of the insurer will be provided scholarships at Rs. 1,200 a year from Class IX to XII.
Benefits for Unorganised workers in the age group of 60 to 70 years are
– Accident Death and Total Disability relief: Rs. 4.25 lakh.
–Partial Disability relief: up to Rs.3,25,000/-
– Natural death relief and scholarship: None as per AABY norms.
The insurance premium of Rs. 132 Crore will be paid by the state government to the identified insurance company on behalf of the beneficiaries of Chandranna Bima Yojana.
Eligibility for Chandranna Bima Yojana
Workers in the age group of 18 to 70 years covered by the definition of unorganised worker are eligible for registration. The unorganised worker shall make an application in the format annexed, pay Rs.15/- or such other amount as specified by the Commissioner of Labour and furnish an undertaking stating that he or she is an unorganised worker.
